Akvatur, based in Silkeborg, Denmark, offers advanced water taps with hidden boiler systems that provide instant boiling and ice-cold water in addition to standard hot and cold options.
The system, powered by a temperature controller developed by EKTOS, eliminates the typical noise of traditional boiling appliances, creating a silent, efficient solution for home and commercial kitchens.
Challenge
Akvatur wanted to deliver a highly reliable, quiet water-tap system without in-house electronics development or manufacturing expertise.
Their goal was not only to develop the initial control electronics but also to oversee a smooth transition into full production, keeping pace with a very tight production timeline for the first 100 units and their associated test documentation.
Solution
EKTOS provided end-to-end support for Akvatur, handling everything from control electronics design to testing, certification, and manufacturing.
Working in this approach allowed Akvatur to meet the demanding production schedule without disruptions.

Future Development
Building on this successful collaboration, Akvatur and EKTOS are now developing a second version of the tap system, featuring a new design with a more robust boiler shell and embedded control electronics for enhanced durability.
The next generation was planned for release by the end of 2018, reflecting both companies’ commitment to continuous innovation and refinement.
